Zouk classes in Helsinki - autumn 2013

The new school season is starting in Finland, and so are new dance classes! Here is a list of all the zouk courses that are taking place now and this autumn:

Dance school: Rio Zouk Style / Etnofitness
What: Rio zouk with our Brazilian teachers from Rio de Janeiro who set up their dance school in Helsinki about 2 years ago.
When:
Tue and Thu 19:30-20:30 progressive course / Team A (beginners) 3 Sep - 19 Dec
Tue and Thu 20:30-21:30 progressive course / Team B (improvers) 3 Sep - 19 Dec
Sat 14:00-15:00 progressive course / ladies in Sep-Oct *full*
Drop-in classes were also held on select days (weekly) last season so check back to their website for more info. Private classes also available.


Teacher: Soile Vedenpää
Dance school: Etnofitness
What: Lambazouk with our resident zouk dancer - Soile was the first to teach zouk in Finland and has been teaching ever since for the past three years.
When:
14 and 28 Sep at 12:30-14:00 and 15:00-16:30

12 Oct at 14:00-17:00

26 Oct at 12:30-14:00 and 15:00-16:30

23 Nov at 14:00-17:00

These Saturday classes have the first 1,5h for beginners and second 1,5h for improvers/intermediate. Register with Soile to attend the classes and look up Soile Vedenpää on Facebook to follow up with her about the autumn schedule.

Teacher: Ossi Kimmelma
Dance school: Spiral Dancers Finland
What: Mzouk with our Finnish representative of Spiral Dancers zouk dance school, trained in Barcelona.
When:
Mon 18:30-19:30 basic course (beginners A) for 12 weeks starting 16 Sep
Mon 20:00-21:30 basic course (beginners B) for 12 weeks starting 16 Sep


Teachers: Mikko Toiviainen and Gäelle Le Vu
Dance school: Sfinksi 
What: A 4 week series of zouk workshops for beginners.
When: Wed 17:00-18:25 (beginners) 18 Sep - 9 Oct
Mikko and Gäelle also host on Wednesdays at 18:30-19:15 training for International Zouk Flashmob until 18 Sep.


Practice & socialize!

During the summer we've had zouk socials on Mondays at 19-21 and Wednesdays at 18-21 at the Töölönlahti park behind the Opera house and will do so until mid-September (weather permitting). During the autumn season the indoor practicas will continue at least with Rio Zouk Style - keep an eye on their Facebook group for times!
